Calligraphy that Inspired a Nation

Wednesday, May 136:00—7:30 PMMeeting Room A
Meeting Room B

Have you ever wondered who wrote the Declaration of Independence by hand? How they wrote during the American Revolution? What tools and lettering style they used? Would you like to try your hand at writing like they did during the colonial period? We will explore these questions and more in this hands-on 90-minute program with professional calligrapher Debby Reelitz. Lettering samples and instructions will be provided so participants will have the opportunity to write in script, use a dip nib and ink and scribe a line from the Declaration of Independence, as well as create a signature for themselves that is inspired by signatures from colonial times.
